An Everlasting Kingdom (part 7)
For context, you are invited to see the other posts in this series here.
Christianity continues to grow on planet earth, just as it has since the first century until the greater portion of earth’s population is serving Christ. Dr. Jay Grimstead writes:
7. The Kingodm of God Is To Gain Willing Subjects Increasingly on Earth over the Centuries So Great Portions of the Planet Are Christianized When Jesus Does Return.—That this is the actual trend of history can be shown by Christian sociology statistics from the U.S. Center for World Mission in Pasadena, California. At the end of the first century only one out of every 360 people were Christians. By 1000 AD, the ratio was one to every 220 pagans. By 1950, it was one to every 21 non-Christians. By 1992, the ratio was one to seven. At this rate, the ratio could soon be one to one! We have actually been gaining much ground in numbers and in many fields of life over the past 2000 years. And for the record, the Church over the ages has never adopted a universally accepted position regarding eschatology, thus, no group of Christians should make any eschatolotical view a test for orthodoxy, whether that be from the perspective of premillennialism, postmillenialism, or amillennialism, since Scripture leaves all three of those positions open for people to accept. (Articles 15,1 6, and 25 of Concerning the Kingdom of God)
In closing. I would urge those who may find this information disturbing to study the Kingdom document which supports this. Few doctrines are as critical to our evangelism of the world as the doctrine of the Kingdom of God and it is my opinion that many of the evangelical church denominations have held less-than-Biblical views on this topic since 1830.
